The project
Skegness Tower Gardens: Restoring a Historic Landscape for Future Generations
Influence was appointed to develop landscape restoration proposals and deliver detailed design for the regeneration of Skegness Tower Gardens, a Grade II Registered Park with origins dating back to the 19th century.
Working from RIBA Stage 3–7, the team prepared a long-term vision masterplan and led the delivery of the first phase of improvements, focused on conserving the historic core while enhancing accessibility and visitor experience. The scheme included restoration of the original pond and cascade, path upgrades using permeable systems to protect tree health, and the introduction of a new sensory garden.
The wider refurbishment programme also delivered improvements to footpaths, reinstated historic features and incorporated community planting, informed by public consultation.
Completed in 2024, the project has revitalised this important heritage asset, balancing conservation with modern use. It was recognised with a Highly Commended award at the Greater Lincolnshire Construction and Property Awards, reflecting its success in restoring a valued public landscape for the community.
