The project
University of Lincoln: Landscape design supports investment in a healthier future
Influence was appointed in 2018 to deliver the RIBA Stage 3 design for the new University of Lincoln Medical School alongside HLM Architects and continued to support the project through to completion on site. The £21 million, purpose-built facility at Brayford Pool Campus, delivered by BAM Construction, provides state-of-the-art teaching spaces for future healthcare professionals, including laboratories, clinical skills suites and flexible learning environments.
Developed in partnership with the University of Nottingham, the project plays a vital role in addressing regional skills needs and improving access to medical training.
Sustainability was central to the design, achieving a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating and incorporating low-carbon technologies such as solar panels, air source heat pumps, and a living wall, making it the University’s first zero carbon building.
The surrounding landscape creates a series of interconnected spaces that enhance the campus environment, offering areas for study, collaboration and relaxation, including a roof terrace for students and staff.
