The project

Welton + Dunholme, Lincoln: Creating a Lasting Home for Sport, Community and Nature

Influence Landscape Planning & Design was appointed to support Welton and Dunholme Cricket Club in establishing a permanent home within a growing community north of Lincoln. Working alongside West Lindsey District Council, the team contributed to a feasibility study and developed a comprehensive landscape strategy and masterplan to guide the club’s long-term vision.

The proposed scheme identifies a 22-acre site within a new residential development, creating a high-quality, multi-functional sporting and community hub. Plans include a full-size cricket pitch, pavilion, practice nets, padel courts, football pitches and informal recreation spaces, alongside walking, cycling and running routes that connect with the wider area.

The design also integrates ecological enhancements, including native planting, wildflower meadows and habitat features to support biodiversity. By combining sport, recreation and green infrastructure, the project establishes a vibrant, inclusive destination that supports community wellbeing, encourages participation and creates lasting value for local residents.
