Helping Shape Nottingham’s Green Heart: Influence’s Nature-Led Vision Contribution
Influence collaborated with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust to reimagine the former Broadmarsh Shopping Centre as a transformative, nature-led civic space at the heart of Nottingham, as part of the Trust’s contribution to ‘The Big Conversation’. Developed in response to the social and economic impacts of Covid-19, the vision proposed a 100% green redevelopment that would improve access to nature, support wellbeing and drive sustainable economic growth.
Working to a fast-paced programme, Influence translated the Trust’s ambition into a clear design narrative, illustrative masterplan and visualisations, re-envisioning the site as a vibrant urban park inspired by its historic landscape and the River Leen’s former course.
The design introduced a series of interlinked character zones—including ecology, education, recreation and wellbeing—creating a multifunctional landscape that reconnects people, place and biodiversity.
This collaborative vision has helped influence wider regeneration strategies and demonstrates Influence’s expertise in delivering bold, landscape-led solutions that prioritise sustainability, ecological resilience and community benefit.
